Greetings! So it seems I haven't written anything here in a very long while... which is very unfortunate and hopefully this will change and I will be able to update this blog more frequently with my growing amount of freetime and willingness.
So the past year or so since I started this food-dedicated blog have been rough to say the least.
But, rough times have given me the greatest outlet which is, writing.
So no more "woe is me" talk, I will be re-dedicating this blog to all things-me. Everything I want to share or rant or anything will be present on this blog, from more recipes to pictures I fancy, to my weird dreams.
All that said, it is currently 10:24pm and Im half-way through with my homework (im a 2nd semester senior is it really necessary?) and I seem to be finding all methods of procrastination.
The topic for tonight will be this: what the hell do I paint??
Honestly, I work best under pressure, and the pressure is on now. I have 3 art projects to complete by next week for the honors art exhibit at my school. How will I pull this off? I do not know. Will I? Questionable. For now I have painted:
This is a collage I did of the most interesting portrait I know of.
Mary Katherine, I dont mind mentioning names when it comes to references. She is one of the most unique women I know. The materials I picked reflect her as a person. I chose glass for her face because of the variety of emotions she experiences. One moment she is happy, but a delicate happy, a kind of happy that can be shattered with one word.
I chose chain for her hair; it reflects how beautiful her hair is. Each strand of her hair is like a separate piece of jewelery. She is strong and I can tell that through her golden locks of hair that have grown along with her self-empowerment.

Try and guess. I bet you can't
This. Most people dont understand what the hell this is. In my mind this is completely clear. A finger touching the glass of a fish bowl; a fish looking at the imprint of a finger pressed against its home.
I used to have a glow fish... and it looked like a robot. When I stared at it, all I saw were wires and clockwork. this piece is a representation of my relationship with this fish. I cant quite grasp the reality of the fish, hence the abstract colors. I am warm colors, the fish is cool colors, the water in the fish tank is a mix of both.

This is my most recent painting. Cats in lights =adorable no matter what
My explanation? I like cats. They make me happy. I also like christmas lights. Its interesting how the two coincide to create something that looks a bit like a fantasy.

So yea. I will be working on some more drawings/painting for the next few hours... Ill try to update soon!! Bye friends-

Vegan Chocolate Mousse

Apologies for my absence on this blog, but now that I'm off for the summer, I will be posting more! So I had an excess of avocados in my kitchen...and they were all at that "use me now or never" point
So! Vegan chocolate mousse.
This recipe is unbelievably simple. You need:
1 avocado
1/2 cup of cocoa powder.

Toppings:
fresh fruit(strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, bananas)

Yes that is it. Then you mix and mash the two ingredients together and wow look some vegan mousse.
My mousse was actually far too bitter for my taste so I added some agave and it sweetened it up to my preferences.

Vegan Chocolate Cupcakes

Hello! After a couple days of being super healthy I decided that it was cupcake time. because why not. Tonight I made rice with red peppers and avocado to maybe balance out these babies
Not to fret, they are still very vegan.

I presumably stumbled upon this recipe a while ago because I found as a screen shot in my phone so! here goes
the recipe as I have tweaked it:

2 1/2 cups of flour
2 tbsp baking soda
1 avocado
1 1/2 cups of palm sugar (brown sugar works too I guess)
1/3 cup of olive oil
4 ounces of melted dark chocolate
1 1/2 cups of almond milk (soy/whatever)

What you do here is: preheat the oven to 350. mix the flour and baking powder in one bowl and the avocado, sugar, and olive oil in another. the wet stuff bowl is the bigger bowl. After properly mixing the avocado, sugar and oil, add in the melted chocolate... Then mix in the almond milk.
Mix in the flour stuff into the bigger chocolate-y/avocado-y bowl. Note: this batter is really delicious.
Pour the batter into cupcake holders and bake them for 15 minutes.

If you desire frosting:

2 cups --> however much powdered sugar you want
2 handfuls of melted dark chocolate
1/2 cup of vegan butter
maybe fruit? I like blueberries. Also coconut flakes are always acceptable. Always.

Hello! This is my first time writing, but wasting no time I will be getting straight to today's subject which is:
Homemade Granola!
yup. thats a decent amount of granola.

So basically this is super easy to make; the hardest part being the collection of ingredients which brings us to the next step of this culinary equation

You will need:
3 Cups of Rolled Oats (more or less depending on how much you want- I used 3 and I got this heaping bowl)
1 Cup of Almonds
1 Cup of Walnuts/hazelnuts
1/4 Cup Flaxseeds/sunflower seeds
1/2 Cup of Maple Syrup
1 Cup dried Fruit
Anything else you feel the need to put in this mixture

The oven should be preheated to 350.

Next: You wanna mix the dried stuff together pretty evenly first and leave the dried fruit for last. you DONT want the dried fruit involved in anything till the last minute. Then you just kinda mix the maple syrup in it till its just sticky and great. I used a cookie pan and just dumped the uncooked granola on it and spread it evenly over it and it seemed to do well. Place this in the oven for 30 minutes.
After waiting you should have yourself some deliciously browned granola (:  Add the dried fruit and whatever else (I put in blueberries because reasons.) Pretty sure this can be used for some pretty great breakfast cereal or a great snack! Side note: It tastes fantastic with almond milk
